Sensory friendly showings are designed for families affected by Autism and Sensory Disorders. These special showings help your family enjoy a movie with out worrying about whether or not your child can handle the entire show. Everyone in attendance is here for the same reason you are. It’s a community! Hoyts Simsbury and Autism Speaks would like to bring families affected by autism and other disabilities a special opportunity to enjoy a movie in a safe and accepting environment. We will be providing special provisions for this showing. In order to provide a more accepting and comfortable setting for individuals with ASD or Sensory Disorders, the auditorium will have the lights brought up, the sound turned down, there will be no commercials or previews before the movie is shown and audience members are welcomed to get up and dance, sing, walk, shout, hop - basically the Silence is Golden rule is being thrown out the window and will not be enforced unless the safety of the audience is in question.
